Ryan and team are phenomenal. He removed a massive tree and trimmed one other in the back of our house on a steep slope. It was a challenging job not only because of the incline but because of the very narrow space available for debris removal. He nailed it. Fast and flawless. We were blown away by his integrity, professionalism, smarts, skill, and efficiency. We’ve run out of adjectives. If you are fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Ryan, don’t hesitate. He’s the best.

PS. Update 5/24: Ryan has since trimmed all of our hedges and tamed the overgrowth. He did an immaculate job yet again!

Anyone in need of tree maintenance, trimming or removal simply can't go wrong with Ryan and his experienced team. I have used their services for many years and have yet to be disappointed. We were extremely pleased with the work completed in our backyard by A Life With Trees.

Ryan and his crew performed ornamental pruning on
8 trees, which included vine maples, Japanese maples, a gingko and a willow. They showed up on time and removed all pruning debris as promised. Ryan confirmed that all work was satisfactory and to our liking before leaving the job site.

The entire team was a pleasure to work with, including the office staff who professionally handled the scheduling around a hectic winter storm. We plan on using A Life With Trees for future pruning. Bravo!

Ryan and his crew did a great job of assessing and clearing some hazard trees on our property within a few hours. We appreciated how they were careful not to damage our shed roof and pasture fencing as they removed trees. They also did a good job of cleaning up and piling brush and cut wood according to our wishes. Their prices were reasonable, and we like having an arborist around to help us keep our trees healthy, yet be available to remove trees as needed.

Ryan and his crew were professional and fast. Took care of a large leaning tree and left our place clean and tidy.

The tree was brought down from the top down with Ryan’s outstanding climbing and logging skills and the 120 foot crane lowering all parts into a confined area where chipping and clear up was done quickly and very tidily by his crew.

I have used various tree trimming companies over the years and it was never a pleasant experience. Every one of these companies lacked professionalism, spend more time sitting around talking then actually working and their tree trimming practices were dangerous, done carelessly without any safety equipment.

After my parents passed away I moved back to my childhood home in Hood River where one of the trees was rotting. Because of my past bad experiences with tree trimmers I really dreaded having to use one and put it off until the tree was risk for falling. I had no idea what company to use so I picked A life With Trees because I liked the name of the company and I definitely picked the right company! From my initial contact with them, to the assessment of my tree, to the actual work on the tree, to how quickly and efficiently they performed their work, to their outstanding safety practices, and to all of their communication with me, I found everyone with the company to extremely professional and friendly.

A Life with Trees did a great job on a pine tree, a weeping birch, and 2 bushes in our yard, and came in under budget. They were careful not to trim too much - the trees look healthy and so much better. I’m very pleased!

I learned about "A Life With Trees" after a few of their folks were at a "Firewise" presentation in Parkdale in June 2025 (the day of the Rowena fire, actually). People had lots of postive comments from them, and because our former arborist had left the area, I decided to try them out based on solid reviews.

From the first contact (a request for quote made via their website) they responded very quickly, and scheduled a walk-through of the yard. We've got more than 50 trees on the property (a mix of oak, Doug Firs, Ponderosa pines, etc), and we're concerned about habitat and preservation (esp for the oaks) but also for fire mitigation and safety. The review was done professionally, we got a quote that seemed reasonable, and the work was done today.

The crew was also very professional, and Ryan (owner) came a few times to consult about a few trees where a slightly different pruning or removal decision might be needed. I was impressed by their care for the trees and the knowledge, but also by the thorough cleanup afterwards, and the care taken of non-tree things like benches, bird baths, and even a small memorial to a recently-deceased pet. The trees clearly look better, but NOT "topped" or pruned into unhealthy stumps. Totally satisifed, and definitely will have them return in the spring.

Great experience with A Life With Trees. I had a few large beetle killed trees in my yard, close to buildings and Ryan, Brian, and Spencer did a great job with everything. From initial contact, Spencer's evaluation (super helpful and informative - beyond just my problem trees), logistical planning with Ryan, and the whole gang coming out to make it happen - everything worked safely and seamlessly. The team was super friendly, conscientious, efficient, and effective. They immediately got to work and did a fantastic job - again offering excellent customer service, great work, and lots of helpful information. Definitely would recommend this crew for anyone in the mid Columbia gorge who needs tree work.
